Hw ent on to star in romantic films like Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya, Dulhan Ek Raat Ki, Bandini(1963), Anpadh(1962), Ayee Milan Ki Bela(1964), Kaajal(1965), Phool Aur Patthar(1966), Anupama. He switched to suspense and action films withMera Gaon Mera Desh, Seeta Aur Geeta, Jugnu, Sholay, Satyakam, Chacha Bhatija, Dharm Aur Qanoon, Raaj Tilak, Nafrat Ki Aandh, Shalimar, Kab? Kyoon?
